| Update:
Dear tGif Coffeehouse Friends,
We are so blessed and so grateful to have such wonderful and special
friends who come to worship The Kings of Kings with us each friday!
You have touched our lives and have blessed us as we have worshipped
together, prayed together, laughed together and encouraged one
another with a hug, a smile or an uplifting word.
We have always tried to seek our Heavenly Father for His direction
and leading of every aspect of the tGif Coffeehouse. (after all,
it is His in the first place) Our desire is only to follow His
plan and not our own. Recently, we feel that we have recieved
that direction from Him through much prayer, to temporarily suspend
the tGif Coffeehouse ministry.
As you can imagine, this was very difficult to understand. But
we know that we need to "trust in Yahweh with all our heart
and lean not on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge
Him and He will direct our paths." (Prov 3:5-6)
We are excited to see what He has for the future!
"You in Your mercy have led forth the people whom You have
redeemed. You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation."
(Ex 15:13)
We at tGif Coffeehouse love you and look forward to all that He
has yet to do!!!!! Please continue to check this website to keep
informed of any updates. May we all continue to grow in the knowledge
of His will. The peace of our LORD be with you!
In His Hands,
Linda, Sue, Debbie, Ralph and the tGif Staff
Presenting
Good News through Music
The
tGif coffeehouse is a friendly, comfortable place where you can
kick back, relax and enjoy the awesome power of live contemporary
Christian music! The tGif coffeehouse is held every Friday night
at 7:30pm. All are welcome, from all denominations. You don't
need to be a member of our church to come. We invite you and a
friend(or two!!) to come check it out this Friday!
How
it all started
Eight years ago,
the pastor of another church that myself and two other women (who
no longer can be a regular part of running the coffeehouse, but
still faithfully pray for and occasionaly attend-Michelle Glennon
and Ann Moran) were approached by the pastor to see if we wanted
to think of an alternative worship service that could be held
on friday nights. We were given some suggestions taken off of
the computer and each went home to read all of the info. After
carefully going through many great ideas, each of us were really
"hit" by this one suggestion of a coffeehouse providing
a relaxed nonthreatening, nontraditional to spread the gospel.
When we had met after individually reviewing the information,
we all knew this was to be the direction we were to take.
None of us had any clue about ANY portion of this endeavor, but
after much prayer, I can only tell you that it came together in
a way that only God could have done! To Him be ALL the Glory!
Our opening night was a band called "Brethren" (of which
Ray Tierney was the leader of that band). Ray gave us sooooo much
help and direction with bands that we thought it only perfect
to celebrate our 7th year of tGif when Ray Tierney played at the
coffeehouse on September 24th!
Psalm
108 1-5
"My heart is steadfast, O God;
I will sing and make music with all my soul. Awake, harp and
lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, O Lord, among
the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For
great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness
reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and let your glory be over all the earth." |
